NPL BIPM COMPARISON OF JOSEPHSON VOLTAGE STANDARDS

From 28 to 30 January 1992 measurements were carried out at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) to compare the 1 V Josephson junction array voltage standard systems of the NPL and the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM). The voltages produced by the two systems were compared both directly and via a highly stable transfer standard and were found to differ by only (0.7 +/- 1.3) parts in 10(10) (1 sigma type-A uncertainty). Comparisons using commercial Zener diode-based reference standards agreed within the limits imposed by the stability of the Zener standards.
