摘要
The socio-economic level of a region is a key factor in the competition to attract new businesses and by extension other benefits. Amenities and a competitive environment are reflected in the level of economic activity. This article focuses on the possibility of measuring the socio-economic maturity of regions, focusing on the possibility of using the methodology of inter-regional comparisons. The paper specifically focuses on research into two regions. The first is the Oberpfalz region in Germany and the second is the Pilsen region in the Czech Republic. Both are very different in population and size, but because of their location and partly shared history it is interesting to watch their development. After a brief overview of some methods of evaluating the socio-economic development of the regions is presented. Some indicators are used to compare two regions at a time.
