A ONE-POT SYNTHESIS OF 8-BENZYL-4-METHYL-2H,10H-BENZO[1,2-B 3,4-B']DIPYRAN-2,10-DIONE

摘要：
A convenient one-pot synthesis of the title compound(I) has been achieved by reacting 8-acetyl-7-hydroxy-4-methylcoumarin in acetone solution with phenylacetyl chloride in the presence of potassium carbonate with an yield of 42%. A preliminary pharmacological testing of the compound on perfused frog heart shows a Digitalis glycosides-like action.
