An Ultra-Wideband and Wide-Angle Absorber Based on Tightly Coupled Dipole Array

摘要
In this paper, an ultra-wideband and wide-angle absorber based on tightly coupled dipole array (TCDA) is proposed with antenna reciprocity. Impedance matching at the input of the TCDA unit cell is maintained by replacing the generator with a lumped resistor. Benefiting from the advantages of ultra-wideband and wide-angle scanning of the TCDA, simulated results indicate that the proposed design provides more than 90% absorptivity ranging from 3.40 GHz to 13.79 GHz (120.9%) under normal incidence. When the incidence angle is increased to 60 and 70 degrees, fractional bandwidths of 102.6% and 73.4% for at least 80% absorption are still achieved respectively.
