摘要
In this paper, an ultra-wideband (UWB), wide-scan tightly coupled dipole array (TCDA) is designed. The dipole elements and the integrated baluns are printed on a vertical printed circuit board (PCB) backed with a ground plane. Two wide-angle impedance matching (WAIM) layers over the array aperture are used to achieve broadband and wide-angle scanning. The antenna is excited by a coaxial line with 50 Omega characteristic impedance. Simulated results show that the design provides a 6.4:1 (from 3 GHz to 19.3 GHz) bandwidth while scanning to +/- 70 degrees in E-plane, subject to VSWR < 2.5 and scanning to +/- 45 degrees in H-plane, subject to VSWR < 2.7:1.
