Present Situation and Innovative Approaches of Foreign Language Teaching Reform in Colleges and Universities

The reform of foreign language teaching in colleges and universities can not only make up for the defects of traditional foreign language teaching mode, but also improve students' ability to use foreign language in practice. However, in the current foreign language teaching system of China's colleges and universities, there are still many problems, such as serious traditional exam-oriented education thinking, rigid teaching mode, single teaching method, which restrict the promotion of foreign language classroom teaching efficiency and students' foreign language ability. Therefore, this paper elaborates the research progress of foreign language teaching reform in China, and then puts forward the following innovative approaches of foreign language teaching reform in colleges and universities. First, change the concept of foreign language teaching. Second, pay attention to students' learning psychology. Third, coordinate the learning time in and out of class. Forth, make full use of information technology. It is hoped to improve the foreign language teaching mode and overall teaching quality in China through above teaching reform methods.
