摘要
When designing a 3D substation simulation system, construct and render the virtual substation scene in a efficient way is very important. In this paper, we proposed a 3D substation scene building and rendering method. It includes three parts: objects modeling, scene graph building and scene graph rendering. At first, various models composed of a substation scene are built. To apply level of detail (LOD) technology and increase the scene rendering speed, several LOD models are built for each object. Then a substation scene graph is constructed. The scene graph is organized in a hierarchical structure. Several types of scene graph nodes are defined. Finally, in scene graph rendering stage, event traversal, scene update traversal, culling traversal and scene rendering traversal are used to render the dynamic updated scene graph efficiently. Experiments show, the whole 3D substation scene can be rendered in real time on a general PC. The method can be used in 3D substation simulation systems, and it can also be used in other 3D scene simulation fields.
