摘要
In present paper, cutting parameters are investigated in turning of Al-6063 using carbide inserts based on two level factorial design. The cutting insert with CVD coated TiC + Al2O3 + TiN. Experiments is conducted in dry and wet condition. The selected cutting parameters for turning process are cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut with each two levels, maintaining nose radius and rake angle. It is found feed rate is the most significant factor affecting surface roughness and followed by cutting speed and depth of cut. The minimum surface roughness is obtained when low feed rate and low cutting speed are employed in wet condition.
