摘要
Scintillating fiber tracker (SciFi Tracker) is a very important tracking detection mechanism in high energy physics experiments. The current SciFi tracking detector consists of staggered layers of scintillating fibers that are read out by one dimensional (1-D) pixel type silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) array, which shows such disadvantages as the large number of read-out channels and limited position resolution due to its pixel size. In order to overcome these drawbacks in SciFi Tracker, a two-dimensional (2-D) tetra-lateral position sensitive (PS) SiPM is proposed in this work to replace the 1-D pixel type SiPMs array, so that the read- out electronics can be greatly reduced while retaining a good position resolution.
