摘要
Cancer is the second ranked cause of death worldwide, which calls for the development of novel and effective therapies. However our current therapeutic options are mainly limited to chemo- and radio-therapy, surgery and other anti-cancer drugs, all of which suffer from either resistance or relapse of tumors. Cervical cancer is one of the most malignant cancers that preferably affect women. Recently, advanced techniques, such as Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided intracavitary/interstitial brachytherapies, have become increasingly important and promising in the diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer. Hereby in our current report, we present two case studies of stage IVA cervical cancer, that utilized superior dose distribution by three dimension (3D) printing technology. We created digital 3D models for both patients, personalized to each of their individual anatomy with improved catheter tracks embedded in the template. We showed that the personalized 3D printed vaginal template has great potential in clinical treatment of cervical cancer.
