摘要：
Enantiomerically pure pyrrolidinones were synthesized as endothelin receptor antagonists. A [2+2] cycloaddition of an imine and an enantiomerically pure acid chloride gave two diastereomeric beta-lactams which were separated and rearranged to give the enantiomerically pure pyrrolidinones which could be reduced to give the corresponding pyrrolidines.
