Photocatalytic TiO2 thin films deposited inside a tubing by spray pyrolysis

摘要
Thin films of photocatalytic TiO2 were deposited in a Vycor tubing by a simple and reproducible spray pyrolysis (SP) technique. Films were transparent, uniform, non light scattering, and abrasion resistant. To our knowledge, the SP method has never been used before to obtain covered tubing. A basic film characterization by transmission electron microscopy showed that titanium oxide films were polycrystalline and that their structure corresponded to the tetragonal Anatase phase. The performance of the films for the photocatalytic degradation of phenol was determined.
