摘要
An in-situ high temperature deformation experiment was developed and adapted to be performed within the vacuum chamber of a scanning electron microscope in order to study the high temperature cracking phenomenon known as ductility-dip cracking (DDC). The experimental setup and parameters were optimized to study the deformation of Ni-base alloys AWS A5.14 ERNiCrFe-7 and ERNiCr-3 at temperatures ranging from 700 and 1000 degrees C. The performed experiments come to help elucidate the fundamentals of the high temperature deformation and ductility-dip cracking phenomenon in such alloys. Moreover, the developed instrumentation is a powerful tool to perform several qualitative and quantitative room and high temperature deformation and cracking phenomena studies.
