摘要：
Die transösophageale Echokardiografie (TEE) hat sich zum äußerst vielseitigen Verfahren für Überwachung, Diagnostik und Therapiesteuerung bei kritisch Kranken entwickelt. Gründe sind die Einsatzmöglichkeit am Krankenbett, die hohe Bildqualität bei 96-100% der Patienten, die rasche Verfügbarkeit diagnostischer Informationen und eine niedrige Komplikations-rate [68-71]. Diese Übersicht beschreibt den aktuellen Stellenwert der TEE in der Intensivmedizin bei Erwachsenen. Dabei geht der Beitrag insbesondere auf die diagnostische Wertigkeit und die Rolle der TEE für Therapieentscheidungen ein. © 2008, Georg Thieme Verlag Stuttgart. Alle Rechte vorbehalten.
