摘要：

The critical issue addressed in this paper is how to closely combine English language teaching with needs of different majors and disciplines in independent college in the transition era of College English teaching. Special problems like the reform of college English curriculum, teaching tasks design, teaching materials selection and E-learning are addressed. The ultimate aim is to probe into the effective and efficient modes and approaches for the training of promising talents with language competence and competitive edge in universities and colleges.
