Application of Spoken English Tests in College English Teaching Reform

摘要：
An oral English test experiment was conducted to study the relationship between the students' spoken English ability and their autonomous learning ability in order to effectively use the Computer-mediated EFL Learning System. Twenty-eight natural classes (840 students) were chosen to participate in the test, among which 16 classes were under college English teaching reform, and 12 were not. The scores of the students attending under the reform were significantly higher than those who were not. The results indicate that the spoken English test is an effective means to diagnose and guide English teaching and its backwash it can be used by both teachers and students to adjust teaching methods and cognizing strategies respectively.
