摘要
Bleomycin hydrolase (BH), a cysteine protease belonging to thr papain superfamily, is one of the candidate beta secretases. We performed immunohistochemical studies of Alzheimer's disease (AD) brains using an antibody to BH. Polyclonal antibody to BH immunostained neocortical neurons. The immunoreactivity was also found in senile plaques in AD. These results may suggest a role of BH in amyloid formation. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
