A study of a personal air-conditioning system for a private booth and ITS airflow characteristics

摘要
In this study, a new personal air conditioning system for private booths has been proposed. This system blows air from under the floor along a booth wall. The wind direction is adjusted by an adjustment plate for wind direction attached on the booth partition. We conducted particle image velocimetry by using the full-scale mock-up of the system. The results confirmed that changing the attached height of the plate enabled users to adjust an airflow trajectory from foot to head. Moreover, we derived equations for estimating the trajectory of the airflow after it collided with the plate using the jet theory. © 2021 Architectural Institute of Japan. All rights reserved.
