Emotional intelligence and employee involvement: a study on the mediating effect of compassionate leadership

摘要
This study plans to fill a gap in the literature by inspecting the leader's emotional intelligence as well as compassionate leadership towards making the employees more involved in their work. The research has followed an empirical approach and considered collecting primary data with the help of a structured questionnaire from the employees of the power sector. Factor analysis was applied using SPSS version 22.0 to interpret the results of the collected data. The results reveal interesting facts about the association of emotional intelligence and employee involvement in the context of power sector employees where compassionate leadership plays a partial mediating role to their relationship in this study. The research anticipated that compassionate leadership would modulate emotional intelligence as well as employee involvement, mainly based on attribution theory and transformational leadership thereby adding novelty to the research.
