摘要
This article will try to present a reflection on the educational policies and the discourses that have justified them during the era in which Portugal sought integrating the European space after the '70s and specially with the democratic background of post-revolutionary 1974. It will ascribe special relevance to the role of the educative system in economic development. Taking as a starting point an empirical analysis of the key words, this paper states that since the '80s the discourses of the political leaders have been of a hybrid nature. These associate constructivistic orientation in a critical approach with a defense of the effectiveness of the system, understood as necessary for economic productivity. The importance of the national context is considered, as well as the importance of sense its characteristics give to the globalized model of modernization, with the aim of explaining why the homogenizing trend in international regulation is alleviated by concerns of an emancipating nature.
