摘要
Occupational therapists recognize the importance of accurate and consistent assessment instruments. To assure consistency, the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT) adopted the procedure developed by Fess and Moran (1981) that standardizes position of the subject during grip strength measurements. Furthermore, Fess (1986), in an article in the Journal of Hand Surgery, emphasized the need to assess the reliability of new ''high-tech'' instruments before their use. Valid and reliable instruments must be used if accurate information is to be gathered. This investigation determined the reliability of the Jamar digital dynamometer model 2A using the ASHT protocol. Fifty 15-year-old males were the subjects.
