摘要
Mycobacterium tuberculosis persistence in the host is one of the major challenges towards treating tuberculosis. A dedicated set of lipid metabolism genes enable it to resist anti-tuberculosis drugs. Host TAG accumulation is one such property displayed by Mycobacterium. We analyzed expression profile of mycobacterial genes under stress condition inducing TAG accumulation. TAG accumulation was accompanied by overexpression of Rv1179c. Structural analysis of Rv1179c suggests hydrolase like activity of Rv1179c. Hydrolases are involved in host lipid import and TAG accumulation.
