Gilled-pipe heat exchangers are increasingly used in a variety of ranges of energy engineering due to their favoruable heat transmission properties. The existing calculation equations, however, represent only approximately the actual heat transmission, so that an accurate lay-out of these heat exchangers is not possible. For this reason, it is the intention of the authors to obtain more accurate heat transmission coefficients than available at present, and the authors also carried out measurements from which they derived more accurate calculation equations.
