摘要
Postcombustion CO2 capture technology is mainly based on chemical absorption processes on the flue gas stream. This technology is widely used in other industries. The main challenge in a CCS (CO2 capture and Storage) context is the adaptation of the technology to the operating conditions existing in large combustion boilers, especially in coal burners. Corrosion derived from the use of CO2-rich solvents and the high amount of energy used during solvent regeneration are the main problems arised for the scale-up of the technology. This paper gives a global vision of the state of the art of the chemical absorption technology applied to the CO2 capture process. It covers the lastest developments in solvents as well as the strategies to minimize the impact of thermal requirements in power plants.
