THEORY OF ELECTRON-SPIN-RESONANCE TOPOGRAPHY OF SURFACES BY THE SCANNING TUNNELING MICROSCOPE

摘要
It is shown that the induced precession of electron spins in a magnetic field results into tunnelling current modulation. A theory of electron-spin resonance in the STM is developed, revealing that the analysis of the tunnelling current temporal dependence makes it possible to detect the precession of individual spins on crystal surfaces.
