摘要
Variable-air-volume (VAV) air conditioning systems are considered being more flexible and cheaper to run than conventional air conditioning systems. VAV provides an area of a building with as much air as needed to satisfy a heating or cooling requirement. By comparison, constant-volume (CV) air systems route the same volume of heated or cooled air throughout a structure regardless of how much is needed. As a result, operating costs can be cut by up to 50% over conventional ventilating systems. VAV also can handle shifting loads from lighting changes, occupancies and operating equipment, and zones can be rearranged for different uses. Noise levels, draft problems and complaints can be reduced too.
