摘要
present article constitutes a description of the language used in Apicius's culinary recipes. The goal is to analyze the ideational metafunction of language in a domain specific text, that is, the culinary domain, as Halliday and Matthiessen (2006) suggest. To characterize the culinary language, the specific register of recipes was established and the categories of figure and sequence that most appear were described.
