摘要：
The aim of this paper is to use the notion of fuzzy sets and other notions derived from it in order to define, in a natural and intuitively justifiable way, the notion of fuzzy metric. The notion is then compared with that of statistical metric space and both the concepts are proved to be equivalent in a certain sense.
