Material independent distance measurement for metal objects with eddy-current sensors

摘要
A new method for inductive proximity sensors is described. The distance between the detector coil and a metal object is measured practically independent of the material of the object. The sensitivity for a non-magnetic metal is increased. In addition, the advantage of the innovation is that only a single coil with a LC-parallel oscillating circuit is used.
