摘要：
A rigorous analysis is given for the effect of fibre orientation on the distribution of mass density in otherwise random papers. The variance increases by about 30% as orientation increases from 1:1 to 2:1; the corresponding effect on formation is an increase of about 14% in the coefficient of variation of mass density.
