The effect of ultrasonic radiation during deposition on the magnetic properties of electroless CoP films has been studied. The presence of an ultrasonic field was found to generally enhance the coercivity and shift the peak coercivity in thickness-coercivity curves to a lower thickness. These changes are considered to be a consequence of an increase in the grain size. For solutions with a low concentration of metallic ions, the ultrasonic field induced marked changes in the characteristics of the deposit.
