To gain insight into the idiosyncracies of image-enhanced estimators, and to contrast them with those of the more established extended Kalman Filter, this paper consider.5 the performance of an image-enhanced estimator in a specific scenario; an agile target moving in the plane with intermittent maneuvers is tracked from a fixed location. This application is fundamentally nonlinear and nongaussian, and illustrates both the promise and the limitation of image augmentation.
