摘要
Traction batteries occupy a central position in electric vehicles (EV). Besides the significant contribution to cost of the EV, the energy storage device affects the maximum power, the driving range and also the safety and lifetime of the vehicle, because a replacement of the complete battery pack after only a few years of service is not economically advantageous in most cases. Therefore it is inevitable to monitor and to manage the electrical and thermal condition of the battery, optimally. The underlying cell chemistry has a significant influence, some well-established types of batteries will therefore also be summarized.
