摘要
This article aims at relying on the connectionism paradigm, which belongs to the Cognitive Sciences range, in order to enlarge the debate about the concept of journalistic objectivity. The article describes that, in the connectionist perspective, external stimuli trigger parallel networks of neurons in the brain of the individual, that influence themselves simultaneously, generating fast responses. Under this paradigm, the same is true in reading, in which the text display triggers various neural networks where information is already stored, coming from experience and learning. Thus, connectionism believes that in the act of reading, the text is reconstructed by the individual under the influence of his/her prior knowledge. From the connectionist view, this article aims at launching new questions around the concept of objectivity, showing that in the act of understanding a text, itself, phenomena that distance the reader or receiver of the full meaning provided by the author of that particular text occur.
