ELECTROINITIATED CATIONIC POLYMERIZATION OF EPSILON-CAPROLACTONE USING SACRIFICIAL ANODES

摘要
The polymerization of epsilon-caprolactone is carried out with metallic cationic initiators generated electrochemically. V, Ti, Cr, Al and Hg cations gave rise to polymers with molecular weights in the range 1000-13 000. Better yields and higher degrees of polymerization are obtained in the presence of [SbF6]- and [ClO4]- as anion of the supporting electrolyte, which is in accordance with the stability and the poor nucleophilicity of these anions.
