OBSERVATION OF ZR-91 NMR IN ZIRCONIUM-BASED METALS AND OXIDES

摘要
The characterisation by Zr-91 NMR at room temperature is reported for Zr metal (hexagonal close-packed), ZrH2 (tetragonal), ZrC (cubic), ZrCo (cubic), ZrO2 (monoclinic), ZrO2 (3 mol% Y2O3, tetragonal) and ZrO2 (9.3 mol% MgO). The density of states deduced from the Knight shift for zirconium metal agrees with band structure calculations. It is shown for the first time that the quadrupolar lineshape distinguishes between the various zirconia-based phases.
