摘要
Current molecular data, combined with age and clinical onset, distinguish at least two subtypes of glioblastomas: de novo and progressive. However, none of the molecular parameters studied so far have shown significant association with patient survival in this disease. The Ip and 19q allelic losses have significant diagnostic and prognostic importance. As targeted therapy begins to be investigated for gene products, genetic analyses will assume an important role in the treatment of patients with malignant gliomas.
