RADIOPROTECTIVE EFFECT OF IMMOBILIZED CYSTEMINE

Parameters were defined for adsorption of the two radioprotective agents cystamine and mexamine with pyrogenic silica (the aerosil A-380) and with that containing adsorbed dibenzo-18-crown-6 molecules onto the surface. The formation of aminecrown ether complex on the surface of aerosil was detected by mass spectrometry as a variant of fast atom bombardment. The desorption of cystamine from crown ether-modified aerosil was ascertained to proceed far slowlier than from unmodified one. The found regularities account for the results of biological trials that have established prolongation of effects and increase in radioprotective properties of cystamine and mexamine fixed on the surface of crown ether-modified aerosil.
