Mathematics’ teaching is facing many challenges, like the right of all students to high-quality mathematics teaching and to using mathematics in their daily life or in the service of other disciplines. These challenges require that the mathematics teachers develop specific abilities. For this reason, many countries choose that their teacher training be oriented to professionalism.
