摘要
A theoretical study has been made of the formation of a heterostructure of alternating metallic and semiconducting phases in atomic chains of a Peierls-metal surface monatomic layer placed in an electrostatic field normal to the surface. It is shown that an increase in the electric field results in an increase in the critical temperature of the metal-semiconductor phase transition on the sample surface, an increase in the temperature interval within which the heterostructure exists, a decrease in its spatial period, and an increase in the depth of spatial modulation of the gap in the electronic spectrum.
