摘要
This study examines organizational adaptations at a state transportation agency during a period of rapid scale-up in the outsourcing of core professional services. The case study draws on multiple qualitative and quantitative sources of data. Substantial divergences are shown to exist between the prescriptions of the normative outsourcing model and the adaptation processes observed in the agency. Implications for theory and practice are discussed. © Springer Science+Business Media, LLC 2008.
