摘要
Abstract: The paper presents the results of three-point bending testing to assess changes in the strength of carbon fiber reinforced plastics produced by milling in various cutting modes. Tests are carried out using samples of three series, each of which is manufactured in two sets. The series of the samples differ in the cutting mode (different cutter rotation frequency at the same tool feed), and the sets differ in the holding conditions before testing: at positive (20 ± 2)°C and negative (–50°C) temperatures for 60 h. It has been shown that the cutter rotation frequency has almost no effect on a change in the bending strength but significantly affects the maximum deflection and the cut surface cleanliness. Reducing the cutter rotation speed causes an increase in temperature in the cutting zone, improves the cut surface quality, and increases the maximum deflection. The effect of negative temperature leads to an increase in the maximum deflection and a decrease in the bending strength of carbon fiber reinforced plastics. © 2023, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
