A Domain Decomposition Method Based on Volume Surface Integral Equation for Solving Electromagnetic Scattering from Complex Dielectric/Metallic Composite Objects

摘要
This paper presents a nonconformal and non-overlapping domain decomposition method (DDM) based on volume surface integral equation (VSIE) for solving electromagnetic (EM) scattering from arbitrary shaped complex dielectric/metallic composite objects. In this approach, the SWG/RWG basis functions defined in tetrahedral/triangular elements are applied into the VSIE. In order to improve the flexibility of geometrical modeling and accelerate the convergence of the VSIE system for electrically large and multiscale composite objects, a DDM scheme is developed to employ a discontinuous Galerkin (DG) approach to glue conformal/non-conformal volume/surface grids between adjacent subdomains. Besides, an interior penalty term is adopted to stabilize the DDM solution, and half SWG/RWG basis functions are introduced to model the equivalent volume/surface current associated with nonconformal volume/surface elements. Finally, several examples with EM scattering results are given to demonstrate the accuracy, efficiency, and flexibility of the proposed VSIE-DDM.
