SPORT TOURISM IN OBERSTDORF - THE MOST IMPORTANT SPORT AND TOURISM CENTRE IN THE BAVARIAN ALPS

摘要
Oberstdorf is a very important sport tourism destination in the Bavarian Alps. It is a most visited German tourist village. The aim of this paper is to show sport tourism in Oberstdorf and possibilities and forms of practicing sports by tourists. It was prepared and applied a special questionnaire by the author. In addition, there were used informative materials of the Tourism Office in Oberstdorf and the German Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden. Own studies and other data confirm the great popularity of Oberstdorf among the respondents and their great sports activity. From the research results there can be mentioned that the majority of interviewed tourists travel to Oberstdorf by car, stay in hotels and they are very active in sports. The most popular sports activities in summer are hiking, cycling and tennis and in winter alpine skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing.
