Following a career with ICI Agricultural Division over a 20 year period developing catalyst materials and managing R&D and various businesses, the author was appointed Director of the Cookson Technology Centre in 1983 and subsequently Director of Technology in 1991. He is now promoting investment in and assisting, technology and materials based start up companies, and is Chief Executive of Investech Ltd, Hambleton, Camp Road, Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire SL9 7P6, UK.
