This paper reveals that new electronic devices that override faulty electrical impulses in the body augur a better quality of life those afflicted with neurological disorders or paralysis. Already, the tremors caused by Parkinson's disease are being mitigated by of an electrode inserted into the thalamus deep within the brain. The electrode, placed into the precise nucleus of nerves that triggers tremor signals, is sent signals over a lead by a pulse generator implanted, pacemaker-like, in the patient's chest. Another of device allows the body to move when it otherwise could not, as when the spinal cord has been severed.
