In the context of this work, the functionality of the educational and enlightening content of the trio is studied: literature, music, and painting in teaching a foreign language to students of a non-linguistic university. The poliological principle of the interconnection of the language of the trio: music, literature and painting can be one of the methodological foundations in building a modern system of teaching a foreign language. It is a part of the linguistic-culturological approach, based on the intellectual and creative activity of students, and is successfully implemented in the educational process of a regional non-linguistic university. The value-semantic content of this polylogue is revealed in the creativity of students, showing their inner, hidden abilities; facilitates their assimilation of more information; activates, as reference patterns, effective ways of their learning activities; forms their social and personal useful social positions. The acquaintance of students with the process of rapprochement and polylogical interpenetration of music, literature and painting on the basis of the commonality and specificity of their figurative-semantic structures, has a combined aesthetic impact on them and contributes to the formation of both linguistic competence, the ability to solve communicative problems, and emotionally artistic perception, spiritual and moral integrity, the skills to fix key statements and reflect them properly, to reveal the structure of the argument relations and evaluate the content of information. Students learn to extract content, respond positively to the proposed teaching methodology. The poliological principle of teaching a foreign language takes into account the cognitive and emotional capabilities of students to acquire specific competencies, achieve the expected, tangible result in their learning, offers new impulses, informative classical and modern texts and innovative materials for classes, clarifies relevant issues of subject didactics. The teacher places emphasis and carefully studies all the teaching materials for their practical orientation. Our teaching practice has shown the advantages of the proposed methodology of teaching foreign languages in a not-linguistic university: the possibility of methodological innovations, the necessary language awareness, a creative approach to language learning, linguistic and cultural competence, enrichment of the general culture.
