Political Participation of Farmers in the Construction of a Harmonious Society

One important element of the harmonious socialist society construction is socialist democratic development. Farmers account for most of China's population, so the construction of socialist democracy and a harmonious society cannot be carried out without the farmers' effective participation. But the existing problems need to be analyzed and faced while the achievement of farmers' political participation is affirmed. Education and guidance for the farmers' political participation should be emphasized and enhanced, the farmers' capacity of political participation be cultivated in practice, and farmers' economic base for political participation be improved.
