摘要：
In this paper, we provide a report of the first workshop on Emerging Technologies for Next-generation GRID, held at WETICE 2004. A brief summary of the published papers is first provided. Then we summarise the lessons learned from both the presentations made at the workshop and the subsequent discussions, which highlight many of today's most challenging research areas for Grid computing.
