摘要
A quantitative analysis of the electrode polarization is proposed as a method of detection. The transient current of the step potential was used, and demonstrated on the pH measurement. By using a stainless steel electrode, we can clearly distinguish pH 7 from pH 5.9 in the Ringer solutions, while there is 9 times S.E. in between on the K-TQ plots. TQ is the average current from 0 to 2.5 msec, and K is the transient conductance. It is also found the contribution to the transient current of pH is 100 times larger than that of K+ and Cl- ions. With the advantages of a minimized electrode and short response time, our method will be practical for either in vitro or in vivo tests.
